摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for designing a bearing device and the bearing device with which lubricant of an optimum flow rate is made to flow through a bearing gap without changing a shape in a bearing housing.SOLUTION: A radial bearing 19 supports a rotor shaft 3 provided with a turbine impeller 2 and a compressor impeller on both ends rotatably on a bearing housing 15 via a semifloating metal 20. A bearing width L between bearing parts 22, 23 of both ends in the axial direction of the semifloating metal 20 and a gap cross-sectional area S of bearing gaps 25, 27 have a relation of an equation of y=ax+b. Therein, a=0.3±0.1, b=0.7±0.1, x is a ratio (x=L/L0) of the bearing width L with respect to a reference value L0 of the bearing width L of the bearing parts 22, 23 and y is a ratio (y=S/S0) of the gap cross-sectional area S with respect to the reference value S0 of the gap cross-sectional area S of the bearing gaps 25, 27.
