PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe joint that improves holding performance of a pipe to be joined, and alos improves sealing performance between the pipe and the pipe joint.SOLUTION: When an internal pressure acts on the pipe 40, the pipe 40 receives a force in a direction in which the pipe 40 escapes from a base 16. This causes certain movements of the pipe 40, a pipe holding member 24 and a lock ring 30 in directions in which the pipe 40, a pipe holding member 24 and a lock ring 30 escape from an insertion port 20. By this arrangement, the pipe holding member 24 moves toward a small diameter side of a taper part 18T and an outer peripheral part of a pressed part 28 is radially inwardly pressed by the taper part 18T of a sleeve member 18. Consequently, an elongated protrusion 28A of the pipe holding member 24 bites into an outer periphery of the pipe 40, and the lock ring 30 is moved toward a sleeve 18 taper part 18T side hence reduction in its diameter and thereby the lock ring 30 further bites into the pipe 40 to prevent the escape of the pipe 40. Thus, the pipe 40 can be surely held by the pipe holding member 24 and the lock ring 30. |
