<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire, attaining moderate rigidity even when the guide wire is reduced in diameter, and having excellent operability. <P>SOLUTION: The guide wire 1 includes a wire body 2 having a core material formed of metal material having flexibility and shaped linear and a coating layer 6 coating at least part of the outer periphery of the core wire 3 and formed of resin material.
