A method for treatment of an open wound in a subject, comprising administering to the open wound a composition comprising a carrier, a hemostatic agent, and a wound targeting moiety comprising an antibody specific to a cryptic tripeptide arginine-glycine-aspartic acid (RGD) epitope, wherein the carrier is conjugated to the antibody, wherein the carrier contains the hemostatic agent, and wherein the antibody facilitates local delivery of the hemostatic agent to wound tissue by binding to an exposed cryptic tripeptide arginine-glycine-aspartic acid (RGD) epitope, wherein the exposed cryptic tripeptide arginine-glycine-aspartic acid (RGD) epitope is exposed upon wounding of the subject, and wherein the hemostatic agent is a self-assembling peptides having hemostatic activity.
