<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an insertion member to be inserted in an optical circuit where an optical guide is provided on a substrate while downsizing the optical circuit. <P>SOLUTION: An optical circuit includes a substrate 100, a lower clad layer 101 on the substrate, a core layer 102, an upper clad layer 103 on the core layer 102, and a fixture 107 on the upper clad layer 103. The lower clad layer 101, the core layer 102, and the upper clad layer 103 structure an optical guide. The optical circuit has a groove 104 crossing the optical guide. The groove 104 extends at least from the fixture 107 to the lower clad layer 101. The groove 105 is formed in an area where the fixture 107 exists and an insertion member 105 such as a wavelength plate is inserted in it, resulting in downsizing the optical circuit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
