<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus that includes a first light-receiving-element array for reading a monochrome image and a second light-receiving-element array for reading a color image, and that is capable of reading a color image without causing a deterioration in image quality, and an image forming apparatus used therewith. <P>SOLUTION: An image reading apparatus 1 comprises: a monochrome line sensor 341; color line sensors 342; shift registers 343 that sequentially output electric charge received and accumulated by the monochrome line sensor 341 from output ends; shift registers 344 that sequentially output electric charge received and accumulated by the color line sensors 342 from output ends; and a driving control unit 11 that, when a first reading method for moving an optical system with respect to a document, and a color mode are selected, stops outputting a horizontal transfer signalϕ<SB POS="POST">H</SB>to the shift registers 344, and that outputs the horizontal transfer signalϕ<SB POS="POST">H</SB>to the shift registers 344 and causes the shift registers 344 to sequentially output electric charge held therein from the output ends. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
