The waveform chopper chops the high-voltage domain input signal into a first chopped signal and a second chopped signal. A high-voltage-domain receiver combines the first chopped signal and the second chopped signal into a high-voltage-domain combined signal. A step-down device converts the high-voltage-domain combined signal into a stepped-down low-voltage-domain signal.

An input receiver, comprising: a waveform chopper configured to substantially pass an input signal as a first chopped signal when the input signal is greater than a threshold voltage and to clamp the first chopped signal at the threshold voltage when the input signal is less than the threshold voltage, and wherein the waveform chopper is further configured to substantially pass the input signal as a second chopped signal when the input signal is less than the threshold voltage and to clamp the second chopped signal at the threshold voltage when the input signal is greater than the threshold voltage; and a chopped waveform receiver including a first switch configured to switch on to charge a combined signal to a first power supply voltage when the first chopped signal is clamped at the threshold voltage and a second switch configured to switch on to ground the combined signal when the second chopped signal is clamped at the threshold voltage.
