METHOD FOR GENERATING CALIBRATION INDICATOR OF CAMERA FOR VEHICLE

The present invention relates to a method for providing a calibration indicator of a camera for a vehicle, which is configured by arraying a plurality of patterns. The method comprises the following steps: storing a camera internal parameter related to a camera for a vehicle, a camera external parameter including an installation position or posture information of the camera, and information on a planar calibration indicator having a lattice pattern; generating a perspective image from a planar image with respect to the planar calibration indicator by using a camera model simulation; applying the camera internal or external parameter to the generated perspective image, and applying a transformation matrix to the perspective image for perspective projection transformation to generate a distortion image; extracting an image of a reference calibration indicator corresponding to the planar calibration indicator information from the distortion image to scaling-transform the same; and generating, to the transformed reference calibration indicator image, an unequal interval calibration indicator by using a homography matrix corresponding to an inverse matrix of the transformation matrix. Accordingly, the present invention provides the calibration indicator having an unequal interval pattern to more precisely detect a feature point coordinate in the distortion image, thereby improving the calibration performance of the camera and improving the detection accuracy of the feature point coordinate even when the same algorithm is used.
