PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an electrophoretic display device excellent in a yield and display quality.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a cell type electrophoretic display device having a cell type electrophorentic display medium layer 5 including one or more types of an electrophoretic body and a liquid medium in a plurality of cells partitioned by a septum portion 3 formed between a first electrode substrate 1 and a second electrode substrate 2 has a transfer step: bonding a surface where an adhesion agent 14 of a transfer substrate 20 having the adhesion agent 14 containing a base material 11 and thermoplastic resin applied on the base material 11 as a principal ingredient is disposed to an end on an opposite side of the first electrode substrate 1 of the septum portion 3 formed on a surface having a first electrode layer 1b of the first electrode substrate 1 formed; peeling off the transfer substrate 20 from the septum portion 3; transferring the adhesion agent 14 on the end of the septum portion 3 to thereby form an adhesion layer 4 on the end of the septum portion 3. The transfer step is configured to peel off the transfer substrate 20 from the septum portion 3 at a non-adhesion velocity at which the adhesion agent 14 is not adhered in the cell.
