The present invention relates to a driver convenience system and to a method for determining the abnormality of the vertical angle of a radar sensor in the driver convenience system, wherein the abnormality of the vertical angle of a radar sensor can be determined using a vertical angle, which has been estimated using a maximal detection distance between a not-moving still object and a vehicle among front information of monitoring the front from the radar sensor, and a preset angle range required for mounting. According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided is a driver convenience system comprising: a radar sensor installed on a vehicle to detect front information placed in front of the vehicle; and an electronic control unit for controlling the drive of the vehicle based on the front information detected by the radar sensor. The electronic control unit includes: a monitoring part for monitoring a not-moving still object among front information detected by the radar sensor; an update part for updating a maximal detection distance between the not-moving still object monitored by the monitoring part and the vehicle; an estimation part for estimating the vertical angle of the radar sensor using the maximal detection distance updated by the update part; and a determination part for determining the abnormality of the vertical angle of the radar sensor if the estimated vertical angle deviates from a preset angle range required for mounting. |
