The present invention relates to an image display device having a flexible display unit capable of changing a curvature. The image display device comprises: a sensing unit for sensing a position of a user; a flexible display unit having any one state from a first state having a finite curvature radius and a second state having an infinite curvature radius; a driving unit disposed on a rear surface of the flexible display unit, and applying strength onto a rear surface of the flexible display unit to change a curvature radius of the flexible display unit; and a control unit for controlling the driving unit, so the flexible display unit can have any one of the first and second states according to whether the user is disposed in a predetermined region based on the flexible display unit. The flexible display unit has a first state having a finite curvature radius when the user is disposed in a predetermined region. When the user is disposed outside of the predetermined region, the flexible display unit has a second state having an infinite curvature radius. When the flexible display unit is in a first state, the control unit controls the driving unit, so a curvature radius of the flexible display unit corresponds to a curvature radius based on a relative distance of the user with the display unit. |
