PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer that is configured to move a cap member on the basis of driving force for moving a droplet discharge head and can restrain an increase in the size of the entire device and an increase in the size of an actuator for moving the droplet discharge head.SOLUTION: A nozzle face 14 faces the support face 11 of a platen 1 in a first direction A, and a droplet discharge head 2 moves in a second direction B orthogonal to the first direction A. In a process where the droplet discharge head 2 moves from a printing area D1 to a home position D2, a cap member 4 moves in an inclination direction E inclined in the first direction A and the second direction B from a retreat position to a cap position. When the droplet discharge head 2 is located at a home position D2, the cap member 4 is located at the cap position and comes in close contact with the nozzle face 14. When the cap member 4 is located at the retreat position, at least part of maintenance means overlaps the support face 11 in the first direction A. |
