PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve MPPT efficiency of a photovoltaic power generation system.SOLUTION: A photovoltaic power generation system comprises a solar battery and a power converter which is coupled to the solar battery. The power converter includes: at least one switching element; current detection means for detecting current which flows in the power converter from the solar battery, and acquiring solar battery current; voltage detection means for detecting voltage inputted to the power converter for acquiring solar battery voltage; and control means for performing switching control of the switching element and controlling the solar battery current to a predetermined value. The photovoltaic power generation system further comprises a detection mode for determining a solar battery current value at a point having the maximum solar battery power which is determined based on the solar battery voltage and the solar battery current, and a stationary mode for using the solar battery current value determined in the detection mode for operating the control means, and when an output characteristic of the solar battery has a local solution, the mode is switched to the detection mode from the stationary mode. |
