PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing material and a packing method capable of protecting side ridge parts of a casing of an air conditioner by a simple packing work.SOLUTION: A covering member (3) of a packing material (1) is constituted such that a main wall part (W1) covers at least a part of a top surface (82) of a casing (81) or at least a part of a bottom surface (83) of the casing (81) and a side wall part (W2) covers a part of a side surface (84) of the casing (81). A first engaging member (51) of the packing material (1) is constituted such that an end part is arranged between an inner side surface (S1) of the side wall part (W2) of the covering member (3) and the side surface (84) of the casing (81), and a first folding-back part (51A) is locked to a first recess (R1), by which the first engaging member (51) is supported by the covering member (3) in the state of covering a first side ridge part (91) of the casing (81). |
