PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveying device and an ink jet recording device capable of suppressing the adhesion of paper powder to a recording head with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: A conveying device 300 is disposed to face a recording head 390. The conveying device 300 comprises a conveyor belt 355 and a suction part 360. The suction part 360 sucks a recording medium P through the conveyor belt 355. The suction part 360 includes an air circulation chamber 362 and a guide member 361. The air circulation chamber 362 is disposed on one surface side of the conveyor belt 355, and negative pressure for sucking the recording medium P to the other surface side of the conveyor belt 355 is generated. The guide member 361 covers the air circulation chamber 362 and supports the conveyor belt 355. The air circulation chamber 362 includes a partition wall 366 for partitioning the air circulation chamber 362 into a first space A1 and a second space A2. A third space A3 included in the first space A1 faces the recording head 390 through the conveyor belt 355 and the guide member 361. The negative pressure of the first space A1 is lower than the negative pressure of the second space A2.
