PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device in which a substantial opening ratio and a transmittance for light are increased while enhancing a contrast by employing a dual liquid crystal structure.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device includes a first liquid crystal panel 291 and a second liquid crystal panel 391 stacked to interpose a polarizing element 119, in which light incident to the first liquid crystal panel 291 is modulated to exit from the second liquid crystal panel 391. The first liquid crystal panel 291 includes a first device substrate 220 and a first counter substrate 210, opposing to each other to interpose a liquid crystal, a first switching element 224 connected to each of a plurality of first pixel electrodes 228 disposed on the first device substrate 210, and a microlens ML1 disposed on an incident side of the light of the first switching element 224. The second liquid crystal panel 391 includes a second device substrate 330 and a second counter substrate 310 opposing to each other to interpose a liquid crystal, and a second switching element 324 connected to each of a plurality of second pixel electrodes 328 disposed on the second device substrate 330. |
