PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery monitoring device capable of highly accurately detecting current flowing through a battery cell without using an exclusive bus bar for connecting the battery cell and a current sensor.SOLUTION: There is provided a battery monitoring device comprising: a battery stack to which a plurality of battery cells are connected in series; a bus bar connecting electrodes of adjacent battery cells; a smoke exhaust duct arranged on an upper surface of the battery stack and extending in a connection direction of the battery cells; a current sensor provided on the bus bar and measuring the current of the battery cells; and a substrate arranged on the smoke exhaust duct and mounted with battery monitoring means for monitoring a battery cell state on the basis of the current measured by the current sensor.
