Disclosed is a can-shaped heat exchanger. The can-shaped heat exchanger according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a housing having a cylindrical shape with one surface opened and the other surface closed to form a mounting space therein, having a mounting part, which is connected to the mounting space, formed integrally on one lateral surface, and having one or more inlets and outlets formed on one closed surface and a lateral surface; a heat-radiating unit mounted in the mounting space of the housing and forming connecting flow paths so that multiple plates can be stacked and intersect with one another, wherein one connecting flow path among the connecting flow paths is connected to the mounting space, and different working fluids introduced through the inlets exchange heat with one another while passing the connecting flow paths; a partition wall plate connected to the inlets formed on the mounting part and the outlets formed on the lateral surface of the housing by partitioning the mounting space and the inside of the mounting part, and forming a separate by-pass path other than the connecting flow paths of the heat-radiating unit; and a valve unit mounted by having one end part penetrating the partition wall plate inside the mounting part to correspond to the inlets formed on the mounting part, and adjusting the flow of the working fluid by selectively opening and closing the mounting space partitioned by the partition wall plate or the by-pass path using linear displacement generated by the expansion or contraction of the working fluid, which has been introduced through the inlets, depending on a change in temperature.
