PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform address setting of an option device with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: An image formation system comprises an image formation device 1 and a paper feed option device 23 that can be connected to the image formation device 1. The image formation device 1 comprises a CPU 1 for sending and receiving data to the paper feed option device 23 through a communication channel. The paper feed option device 23 comprises: receiving means for receiving the data sent from the image formation device 1 through the communication channel; sending means for sending the data to the image formation device 1 through the communication channel; and an extension IO having address setting terminals A0, A1 and general-purpose ports P0-P2. The extension IO compares identification data of the paper feed option device 23 received from the image formation device 1 with values set by the address setting terminals A0, A1, and sends a response signal to the image formation device 1 in accordance with the comparison result. The image formation device 1 sends the identification data to the paper feed option device 23 in response to the response signal. The extension IO sets values of the general-purpose ports P0-P2 on the basis of the identification data. |
