PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light shielding sheet in which a light shielding layer that is used to constitute one layer of a back surface protection sheet for a solar battery module as a laminate and has excellent adhesiveness to a base material is formed by coating, and to provide a back surface protection sheet for a solar battery module using the light shielding sheet.SOLUTION: A back surface protection sheet for a solar battery module has a close contact reinforcing layer 62 disposed at an outermost layer to reinforce the close contact with a sealing material, and a light shielding layer 61 formed of a coating layer or film laminated on the other surface of the close contact reinforcing layer 62. The close contact reinforcing layer 62 comprises: a core layer 621 containing polypropylene resin having melting point of 160°C which is 80 wt% or more with respect to the whole resin; and skin layers 622 which contain 50 wt% or more of polypropylene resin having a melting point of 120°C or more and 135°C or less containing ethylene unit and are exposed to the outermost layers, where the close contact reinforcing layer 62 is a three-layer co-extrusion film of the skin layer 622, the core layer 621 and the skin layer 622 which are laminated in this order.
