<p>The invention relates to a method for switching an internal combustion engine from operation by means of a first fuel to operation by means of a second fuel, the first fuel having a first viscosity at a predetermined temperature and the second fuel having a second viscosity that deviates from the first viscosity at the same temperature, comprising the steps of operating the internal combustion engine by means of a fuel mixture having a predetermined first ratio of first fuel to second fuel, and changing the fraction of first fuel to second fuel at a predetermined rate of change until a predetermined second ratio of first fuel to second fuel is achieved, the temperature of at least one fuel or of the fuel mixture being controlled in order to achieve a predetermined viscosity, characterized by detection of the change in the temperature of the fuel mixture that occurs per predetermined time unit when the fraction of first fuel to second fuel is changed, and setting of the rate of change of the fraction at which a predetermined maximum permissible rate of change of the temperature is not exceeded.</p> |
