The present specification relates to a mobile terminal performing an autonomous control on external devices, and an autonomous control method thereof. The mobile terminal according to the present specification comprises: a communications interface unit for receiving a position information of the mobile terminal from a position information provider; and a control unit for determining whether a position point indicating the position information is included in an area of interest represented region in a position history by referring the pre-stored position history, and triggering an autonomous control on an application device according to the determined result.
