The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for obtaining a controller area network (CAN) signal for a vehicle, whose purpose is to obtain a CAN signal outputted by a vehicle, wherein the apparatus of the present invention comprises: a user operating device setting and storing CAN signal data to be measured; a CAN sensor sensing all CAN data of a vehicle; a vehicle sensor sensing general vehicle data except for the CAN signal; a hardware processing unit sampling CAN data to be measured among all of the sensed CAN data, and then synchronizing with the sensed general vehicle data to make a sample; and a software processing unit converting the data sampled in the hardware processing unit into physical values to output the values to the user operating device.
