Disclosed are a steel component and a manufacturing method thereof. The method for manufacturing a steel component according to the present invention comprises the step of: austenitizing and cooling a steel component composed of 0.7-0.8 wt% of carbon (C), 0.1-0.5 wt% of silicon (Si), 0.5-1.5 wt% of manganese (Mn), 0.05 wt% or less of phosphorus (P), 0.03 wt% or less of sulfur (S), 0.01-1.0 wt% of copper (Cu), 0.01-1.0 wt% of nickel (Ni), 0.1-0.5 wt% of chromium (Cr), 0.01-0.2 wt% of molybdenum (Mo), 0.1 wt% or less of vanadium (V), 0.03 wt% or less of aluminum and the remainder consisting of iron (Fe) and inevitable impurities, wherein the cooling is conducted at a cooling rate of 3°C/sec or lower to the region of perlite if the cooling is conducted via a continuous cooling method, and primary cooling is conducted at 4°C/sec or lower to between a perlite transformation initiating temperature (Ps) and Ps+10°C and secondary cooling is conducted at a cooling rate of 3°C/sec or lower to the region of perlite if the cooling is conducted via a controlled cooling method. |
