The present utility model is a composition of a medicinal ointment. Before the preparation of the medicinal ointment, the plant undergo certain procedures to identify its phytochemical components and its toxicity level through the different phytochemical analysis and the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT). Based on the phytochemical analysis of the leaf extract of Chromolaena odorata, five out of seven phytochemicals were present in this plant namely: saponins, tannins, flavonoids, alkaloids and steroids and negative for the presence of anthraquinone and Cyanogenic glycosides. The Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) results that the leaf extract of the plant is effective to kill germs, bacteria and fungi present in the inflamed skin due to cuts and wounds. |
