A mucous membrane elevation instrument for an endoscope (30) comprises a cap (31). The cap (31) is attached to a distant end (11a) of an insertion part (11) of an endoscope device (10). A plurality of through holes (34, 35) are formed on an outer wall portion of a tube part (32) of the cap (31). First and second wires (37, 40) are passed through the through holes (34, 35). In an endoscopic submucosal dissection, an operator extrudes the first wire (37) from a distant end part of the tube part (32), and inserts a U-shaped part (38) of the first wire (37) within an aperture (P3) which is formed in a mucous membrane layer (P2). The U-shaped part (38) raises a submucosal layer (P5), and separates same from a muscle layer (P6). The operator inserts the tube part (32) into the aperture (P3), and then extrudes the second wire (40) from the distant end part of the tube part (32). Then a U-shaped part (41) of the second wire (40) forms a larger space between the submucosal layer (P5) and the muscle layer (P6). Accordingly, an operating site is formed between the submucosal layer (P5) and the muscle layer (P6) which is sufficiently wide for an incision with a high-frequency knife (50) which is inserted into an instrument channel (19) of the endoscope device (10). |
