A successive approximation analog-to-digital converter and a conversion method thereof. The successive approximation analog-to-digital converter comprises a segmented multistage capacitor array with a redundancy bit, a comparator, a weight storage circuit, a code reconstruction circuit, and a control logic circuit. The successive approximation analog-to-digital converter can reduce the complexity of circuit design, save the layout area and reduce power consumption, and accurately measure a capacitor mismatch error and perform capacitor mismatch error correction without requiring an auxiliary capacitor array, an auxiliary switch or a control logic. |
