The present invention relates to a polymer composition for a container closure comprising: a) at least 94.99 wt% polyethylene, b) 0.01-1.0 wt% polyolefin wax, c) 0.01-5.0 wt% additives, wherein the weight percentages are based on the total weight of the polymer composition, wherein the polyolefin wax has a weight average molecular weight of up to 10,000 g/mol; as well as a container closure comprising such a polymer composition.
