PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor driving device which is capable of preventing the failures of a motor driving circuit and a circuit system connected to the motor driving circuit by avoiding a current caused by the generation of a counter electromotive force from flowing around to the motor driving circuit, even when the counter electromotive force is generated in a motor, and to provide an image forming apparatus including the motor driving device.SOLUTION: The motor driving device includes the motor, the motor driving circuit for driving the motor, a connection circuit for connecting the motor and the motor driving circuit, and a cover member capable of taking an opening state where the inside of the main body of the motor driving device is exposed and a closing state where the inside of the main body of the motor driving device is covered. The connection circuit for connecting the motor and the motor driving circuit disconnects the motor and the motor driving circuit, when the cover member takes the opening state, and connects the motor and the motor driving circuit, when the cover member takes the closing state. |
