PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device, image projection apparatus, and electronic equipment that can display high-quality videos with simple configurations.SOLUTION: An optical device includes a light guide body, and a first diffraction part 31 that is provided on a first surface of the light guide body and diffracts and takes out at least a part of light guided inside the light guide body, the first diffraction part 31 including a plurality of first areas 31a and a plurality of second areas 31b. Each of first areas 31a has a characteristic to diffract light in a first wavelength band, of the light guided inside the light guide body, so that the diffracted light has a first angle relative to the first surface. Each of second areas 31b has a characteristic to diffract light in a second wavelength band, of the light guided inside the light guide body, to that diffracted light has the first angle relative to the first surface. Each of first areas 31a and second areas 31b has a width in the first direction, which is a direction along the first surface, of 0.5 mm or more and less than a value obtained by dividing 7 mm by the number of types of mutually different diffraction characteristics of the first diffraction part 31. |
