PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce film thickness unevenness and the waste of a coating liquid.SOLUTION: A coating applicator is provided with a liquid discharge head 1 being a liquid discharge means discharging droplets 61 of a coating liquid to the peripheral surface of a rotating columnar coating member 51 to be coated. In the liquid discharge head 1, a nozzle 40 is positioned in a second quadrant when the rotation direction of the coating member 51 to be coated is a clockwise direction and disposed in a state so that a droplet discharge direction is a straightly downward direction, which is a gravity direction, and is a direction toward an upstream side in the rotation direction of the coating member 51 to be coated from a point crossing a normal line connecting the nozzle 40 discharging the droplets 61 and the rotation center O of the coating member 51 to be coated and the coating surface of the coating member 51 to be coated. |
