Proposed is a novel and improved illumination device, a method for controlling the illumination device, and an image-acquiring system which it is possible to accurately adjust the color temperature in a light-receiving unit by adjusting the light quantity for each of a plurality of light sources on the basis of the correlation between the luminance that is acquired from the light-receiving unit and the quantity of light being emitted. The illumination device is provided with a plurality of light sources with which it is possible to adjust the quantity of emitted light, a light-monitoring unit for detecting the quantity of light that is emitted from each of the plurality of light sources, and a control unit for controlling the quantity of light that is emitted on the basis of the correlation between the luminance acquired from the light-receiving unit and the quantity of light that is emitted.
