PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar device and control method of the radar device that enable improvement in observation accuracy.SOLUTION: A radar device 10 such as a synthetic aperture radar and the like is provided in a moving body such as a flying body and the like, and comprises: an antenna 11 that is a radar antenna transmitting/receiving a radio wave between an object 14 of observation observed by a radar and the radar antenna; a translational drive unit 12 that drives the antenna 11 in a direction bound for the object 14 of observation or in a translational direction serving as a direction receding from the object of observation; and a drive control unit 13 that controls a drive of the antenna 11 on the basis of a displacement of the antenna 11.
