PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of efficiently removing phosphorus in wastewater at a low cost with a simple equipment configuration.SOLUTION: The pH of wastewater containing phosphorus is adjusted to a pH in a neutral region and then the wastewater is led into a turbidity control tank. In the turbidity control tank, after the turbidity of the wastewater is adjusted by adding alumina-silica particles thereto, a first polymer flocculant, which is a cationic organic flocculant, is added thereto and agitated, and then a second polymer flocculant comprising an anionic organic flocculant or an anionic organic flocculant and a nonionic organic flocculant is added thereto to form a state where electric charge is neutral to produce floc. The produced floc is separated into sludge and supernatant water by a thickener, and the phosphorus is adsorbed by the sludge to be removed. |
