PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for producing an aromatic compound, which are used in regenerating a catalyst used for synthesizing the aromatic compound by enhancing the purity of hydrogen to be generated in a plant for producing ammonia, methanol and the like and are used in a plant where ammonia and the like are produced with an unreacted gas, in which the plant, where the ammonia and the like are produced, and an apparatus for producing the aromatic compound are arranged in parallel to conduct efficient co-current production of the aromatic compound, the ammonia, methanol and the like.SOLUTION: A system 1 for producing an aromatic compound includes: a first producing device (2) that synthesizes a target substance (CO/HO) from natural gas; a second producing device 4 that synthesizes an aromatic compound by a catalytic reaction from the natural gas and supplies a mixed gas mainly including unreacted methane and by-product hydrogen to the first producing device (2) to synthesize the target substance; and a hydrogen separation device 3 that separates hydrogen from purge gas generated from the first producing device 2 and supplies the same to the second producing device 4 to regenerate the catalyst used for the catalytic reaction. |
