PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a closed-loop current transducer based on a toroidal fluxgate magnetic field detector that is accurate, reliable, and economical to manufacture.SOLUTION: A toroidal current transducer comprises a housing (4), a ring-shaped magnetic field sensing unit mounted in the housing, and a central passage. The transducer includes a primary conductor unit (19) provided as a separate component, comprising a dielectric body (22) and one or more conductors (20) configured to carry current to be measured held together within the dielectric body (22) forming a general U or V-shaped component separably mountable through the central passage of the housing and lockable to the housing by complementary locking members provided on the dielectric body and housing. |
