PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving durability of a refractory used for long time use or many time repeating use such as a refractory for casting, especially a nozzle for casting or a plate for sliding nozzle.SOLUTION: There is provided a refractory for casting containing AlOC of 15 to 80 mass%, AlN of 0.5 to 20.0 mass% and the balance refractory components. The refractory for casting has a layer having thickness of 2 to 250 μm on a part or all of particle surface containing AlOC, and the layer has a different structure from particle inside containing AlOC excluding the layer and contains components of Al, N, O and C. |
