PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce pressure loss while maintaining silencing performance, in an expansion type muffler.SOLUTION: A muffler according to one embodiment of this invention includes: an expansion chamber; an inlet pipe connected to the expansion chamber; an outlet pipe connected to the expansion chamber; and a connection pipe connecting the inlet pipe and the outlet pipe in the expansion chamber. The connection pipe has: acoustic transmissivity; strength enough to prevent the connection pipe from being deformed by its self-weight; and strength enough to prevent it from being deformed by fluid pressure of passing air flow. |
