PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic photoelectric conversion element that can suppress dark current without lowering the photoelectric conversion efficiency, and an imaging device using the organic photoelectric conversion element.SOLUTION: An organic photoelectric conversion element has a positive electrode, a first charge transport layer, an organic photoelectric conversion layer, a second charge transport layer and a negative electrode in this order. The first charge transport layer contains a first charge transport material whose LUMO level is not less than the LUMO level of the organic photoelectric conversion layer. The second charge transport layer contains a second charge transport material whose HOMO level is not more than the HOMO level of the organic photoelectric conversion layer. The first charge transport layer contains electron trap/scattering material. The HOMO level of the electron trap/scattering material is a level of not more than -0.5 eV or not less than +0.5 eV with respect to the HOMO level of the first charge transport material, and the LUMO level of the electron trap/scattering material is a level of not less than -0.5 eV or not more than +0.5 eV with respect to the LUMO level of the first charge transport material. |
