PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for forming a medium to be printed by a media width printhead.SOLUTION: A system according to the present invention comprises: a media width printhead with a plurality of fluid injection nozzles; input rollers arranged to transport a medium to within a printing range which forms a predetermined angle with a plane parallel to the printing range; output rollers arranged to transport a medium to the outside from the printing range which forms a predetermined angle with a plane parallel to the printing range; and a long platen supporting and forming a medium when the medium is transported through the printing range, and having a series of upstream ribs arranged in an upstream side in a medium transport direction within the printing range and a series of downstream ribs arranged in a downstream side in the medium transport direction within the printing range. The ribs are configured such that the ribs are adapted to a restricted curved path passing near the nozzles when a transported medium comes into contact with the ribs within the printing range.
