The present invention improves abrasion resistance of a foil that has been transferred onto a coil element of a fastener chain. A fastener chain, characterized in being provided with: a pair of element rows (3, 3) that include a pair of coil elements (6, 6) in which side edge parts that extend in the longitudinal direction and face each other in the transverse direction engage with each other, and foils (4) that are attached to an upper surface in the vertical direction, which is orthogonal to the longitudinal direction and the transverse direction, with respect to the coil elements; and a pair of tapes to which the pair of element rows are stitched, the pair of tapes individually overlapping the pair of element rows on the upper surface or the lower surface of the mutually facing side edge parts; the coil elements connecting, in a helical manner, elements (6a) of a length corresponding to one winding connected in the helical direction; each element being provided with an upper leg part (61) that extends in the transverse direction on the upper side, a lower leg part (63) that extends in the transverse direction on the lower side, an engagement head part (62) for linking both side-edge-part-side ends of the upper leg part and the lower leg part in the transverse direction, and an inverting part (64) that links both ends on the opposite side of the engagement head part of the lower leg part and the upper leg part of a different element (6a) in the transverse direction; the foil being attached to the upper surface of the upper leg part in the helical direction; and a dimension (4W) in the direction that is orthogonal to the helical direction as seen from above being made smaller than the maximum outer diameter (6d) of the upper leg part to which the foil is attached. |
