Disclosed are a data transmission method and a device. The method in an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a first terminal transmits data with a second terminal through a first communications link; the first terminal detects a rate of the data transmission; the first terminal determines whether the rate of the data transmission meets a preset rate condition according to the rate of the data transmission; when the rate of the data transmission meets the preset rate condition, the first terminal instructs the second terminal to transmit data with the first terminal through a second communications link; and the first terminal transmits data with the second terminal through the second communications link. The data transmission method provided in the embodiment of the present invention solves the problem of switching when data transmission is performed between the first terminal and the second terminal by means of Bluetooth and WIFI.
