摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image resolution technique of a diffraction limit or less and the other imaging technique.SOLUTION: This invention is generally concerned with the image resolution technique of the diffraction limit or less and the other imaging technique. In one embodiment, light beams from two or more objects separated by a distance less than the diffraction limit of incident light are determined and/or imaged. For instance, these objects may be separated by a distance less than about 1,000 nm, and in visible light, the objects may be separated by a distance less than about 300 nm. In a certain series of embodiments, these objects may be selectively activated. Namely, one object is activated and light can be emitted without activating the other object. It is also available that the first object is activated and determined (e.g. by determining light radiated from the object), and then the second object is activated and determined. These objects may be fixed to each other and/or fixed to a common object.
