The present invention is applicable to the technical field of set-top boxes, and provides a set-top box programming method and system. The method comprises: connect a set-top box with a server, and send a feature code of the set-top box to the server; the server determines the model of the set-top box according to the feature code, generates a corresponding configuration file according to the model and the feature code, and sends the configuration file to the set-top box; the set-top box parses a serial number and an authorization code from the configuration file, and programs the serial number and the authorization code into the set-top box; and the set-top box downloads a system corresponding to the model from the server and installs the system. By means of the method, the serial number and the authorization code are acquired by the set-top box from the server and are programmed into the set-top box, and then the corresponding system is downloaded from the server and installed. Therefore, a large amount of repeated work in the batch production process of the set-top boxes is reduced, human cost is saved, and the programming automation and the programming efficiency of the set-top box are improved. |
