PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of shortening a time since imaging means has started imaging a detection object until an on-vehicle device actuates.SOLUTION: The image processor includes object area extraction means 44 for extracting an object area from an image picked up by imaging means 11, distance information acquisition means 47 for acquiring distance information from a reflection wave of an electromagnetic wave radiated outside the imaging range of the imaging means to an object outside the imaging range, and information preparation means 46 for using the distance information acquired by the distance information acquisition means to prepare prediction area information for allowing the object area extraction means to extract the object area of the object when the object outside the imaging range comes into the imaging range of the imaging means.
