PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spatial image display device which allows for keeping thickness of an optical system small compared with a floating amount of a real image.SOLUTION: A spatial image display device of the present invention has an optical plate and one or more reflective plates. The optical plate comprises a substrate having a normal line in a Z-axis direction with a plurality of optical elements formed in a matrix thereon, where the optical elements specularly reflect a Z-axis component of incident light and retroreflect X and Y axis components of the incident light. The one or more reflective plates reflect light emitted from a luminous object or irradiated object located on a back surface side of the optical plate to cause the light to obliquely enter the back surface of the optical plate, where a front surface is defined as a surface of the optical plate on a viewer side and a back surface is defined as a surface of the optical plate opposite the front surface. |
