1. A method performed by one or more processing devices, comprising:
receiving information from a content provider; generating a bidding strategy based on the information, the bidding strategy indicating a percentage of first content to be presented at a specified location on a computing device display, the percentage of first content being a ratio of a total number of impressions of the first content to a number of impressions of the first content that could be presented at the specified location, the first content being associated with one or more criteria for providing content of interest; generating an initial bid for the one or more criteria in a content auction based on performance of second content that has one or more attributes in common with the first content, the initial bid comprising a monetary amount to pay in the content auction for an action relating to the first content; determining performance metrics for the one or more criteria and the initial bid based on results of the content auction; and automatically determining a revised bid for the one or more criteria based on the performance metrics and the bidding strategy. |
