As a result of attention being focused on the relationship between copper alloy resistance to dezincification and crystal grain size in the α phase and as a result of contributing to the improvement of copper alloy resistance to dezincification, provided are a production method for hot-forged articles using brass, a hot-forged article, and a fluid-contact product, such as a valve or tap, molded using same, said production method for hot-forged articles using, specifically, lead-free brass and using brass whereby corrosion resistance such as a prescribed resistance to dezincification, etc., can be ensured even at sites having different thicknesses or shapes. The brass has a composition having at least 59.2-63.0 mass% Cu, 1.00-2.00 mass% Sn, and 0.05-0.25 mass% Pb, with the remainder being Zn and unavoidable impurities. A raw material to be forged using this brass is heat treated from 350°C until the forging temperature is reached, at a heating speed of at least 5.2°C/s. |
