The invention concerns an electric motor vehicle coolant pump (10) comprising: a pump rotor (12) for pumping the coolant; an electric drive motor (14) with a dry motor stator (16) which comprises a plurality of motor windings (15); a wet motor rotor (18); and a gap tube (20) which separates the motor stator (16) and the motor rotor (18) from each other in fluidtight manner. The gap tube (20) is formed by a sheet metal body (22) which, in the gap region between the motor rotor (18) and the motor stator (16), has a material thickness of d < 0.5 mm, consists of austenitic high-grade steel, has a hardness of HV = 200 - 500, a specific electrical resistance r > 0.10 Ω x mm/m, and relative magnetic permeability of μr < 20, particularly preferably μr < 1.5. The integral sheet metal body (22) forms a sliding bearing shell (33) of a sliding bearing (40) for radially mounting the motor rotor (18). |
