<p>A door closer comprises a body 1 with a rotary shaft 7 connected to a control arm 9. A first latch 6 mounted relative to the body is engageable with a second latch 29 mounted relative to the arm 9 to arrest rotation of the shaft and hold the door open. The arm is adjustably mounted to enable angle between the arm and second latch 29 to be adjusted, e.g. between 0 and 90 degrees at least for adjusting the angular position of door when held open. Latch 29 may be on a mounting plate having an arcuate slot to which arm 9 is adjustably connected; alternatively a stopper (33, fig.11) may be adjustably mounted in the slot providing automatic closing whilst allowing manual closing. The slot may be at least 150 degrees or less than 190 degrees and be symmetrical about the latch 29 allowing installation on left and right handed doors. Also claimed is a door closer with one or more electrical connectors, such as plugs 24, locatable, e.g. pivotal, in two or more different positions.</p> |
